the parent of students at the Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes who is credited with pushing for the school to ban 3 books (The ABCs of Black History, Cuban Kids, Countries in the News Cuba) and the poem read at Biden’s inauguration -The Hills We Climb - has been associated with far-right groups including the Proud Boys

and THIS is why ONE parent having the power to decide what every child should or should not read is absolute and utter bullshit

oh and take a look at the “objection” this parent sent in

If shit like this happens in your school, demand to find out what the objection is, get it in writing and if it looks like this, tell the school board they’re going to have to do better and maybe that the parent needs to go back to school and educate themselves
